Standing on a hillside in the Pays de Serres, bordered by two rivers, the Lot and the Garonne, Le Roussel has been inhabited since ancient times. An earlier Roman villa was replaced by a hamlet that was large enough to justify the inhabitants’ building a chapel there.
Then time and history swept away the houses, leaving just three buildings and the chapel on a farm estate, two kilometres from the village and fourteen kilometres from Agen, the principal town of the département of Lot-et-Garonne, served by an airport and a station with a TGV high-speed rail link that means Paris is just four hours away.
It’s 110 km to Toulouse, and 140 km to Bordeaux.
The very beauty and peacefulness of the spot are themselves conducive to the rest, invigoration, and creativeness that we’re inviting you to come here and enjoy.
